Of course, if you are used to a good camera for taking pictures or recording video, the daylight/ color option is not very impressive. Where this gadget really stands out is the very long distance that you can see - and record - in the infrared mode. So I set out to record some test-videos on a pitch-black night. I did not measure the distance accurately by tape measure, but my subject had to be somewhere about 300 feet away - or more - and I can make out everything as clear as day. The digital zoom is usable up to about half the maximum setting. More than that, my footage gets a little shaky, when I'm holding it in my (old) hands. But the manual focus works quite well, and the long-distance power of the IR illumination makes this a fun recorder of night-time critters & events. So far the battery life is also very good, even when I'm using rechargeable AA batteries. So far, so good.
I bought these as a gift. Took a little while before they were given, and the first pair wouldn't go past the power on screen. I contacted the company through Zoolase and they responded immediately. They asked me for a photo and explanation of the problem which I provided. Again, they responded immediately and told me that they were going to send me out another pair.
When I received them, I decided to test them out before passing them along to the person I gifted them to. What a great pair of goggles for the price. I liked them so much I decided to buy myself a pair as well.
My wife is involved with a cat rescue organization and has trapped over 500 cats in the past 8 years. When trapping at night, she often had to physically approach the set traps to see if a cat had been trapped. This had the potential for scaring cats away from the traps.
With this device, she can sit off at a distance and can see if cats are approaching or are in the traps.
Purchased to see things that go bump in the night. For those who don’t want to break the bank. Good picture quality, zoom works as intended. Good for camping and around the homestead. Satisfied with the price for a good entry level pair of night vision binoculars. Works quite well. Read the instructions and use will be much easier
I bought these for watching deer at night in my yard and field. They worked great out of the box with absolutely no issues. I can see deer easily at 60 yards at night, and even 70 yards, maybe more. I have taken pictures and video's with these as well. They have a really clear picture during the day, pretty good pics at night (the closer the better on pics at night) and they can mount to a tripod for longer recording sessions. They also have a nice durable case, so no worries on them getting damaged or banged around. The battery life seems pretty good. I got mine in June 2022, and still on my first set of batteries. My IR still goes to 5 of 7, even with low batteries. The display screen is nice, clear, and bright. I have shared them with family and friends, they all were impressed also. For the price & quality, I would recommend these to anyone.
