OnePlus Nord CE 5G Review: Best Mobile Under 25000

OnePlus Nord CE 5G

OnePlus Nord CE 5G is the cheapest phone from the company on sale right now. It is the successor version of the very popular original OnePlus Nord. CE stands for Core Edition, meaning it strives to offer the same experience at an even lower price with some additional upgrades and features.

OnePlus Nord CE 5G specifications:

The Nord CE uses the Snapdragon 750G chip and comes in three different variants i.e. 6GB+128GB, 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB. The Snapdragon 750G chipset is common for all these three versions. Also it comes with a 6.43-inch Fluid AMOLED display and The rear has a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera with a 119-degree field of view, and a 2MP monochrome camera. On the front, it has a 16MP cam. It has a 4500mAH battery with fast charging capability.

OnePlus Nord CE 5G Review: Display

OnePlus Nord CE 5G comes with a 6.43-inch Fluid AMOLED display with support for 90Hz refresh rate. Very lovely display, Just the sheer smoothness that you get while doing any task or scrolling through your social media feed makes the OnePlus Nord CE 5G a very attractive smartphone.

The brightness isn’t an issue. Under the sun, It automatically increases the brightness to the full and keep using the smartphone uninterrupted. When it’s totally dark, It automatically reduces the brightness and turns on the Vision Comfort mode. It is just a silky smooth experience to see the device’s display at work.

Watching any kind of content on YouTube or Netflix is a super good experience as well in this device. Because of the large AMOLED display, you get true colours as well as great pictures.

OnePlus Nord CE 5G review: Design and build quality

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G has a basic look and feels just like any other OnePlus smartphone in hand. The back panel and the frame are made out of plastic, which does make the phone feel light in weight but does not provide the premium feel a glass back and a metal frame would have. I would have preferred if the company would have provided us with a metal frame on the device, however, considering the price, the all plastic build does not bother me much.

Camera performance:

The Nord CE has three camera setup on the back and one on the front. The rear has a 64MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera with a 119-degree field of view, and a 2MP monochrome camera. On the front, it has a 16MP cam.

In terms of performance, give the Nord CE enough light and it will give you surprising results, but in challenging conditions, it struggles. The primary camera gives the best results in daylight, with ample details and vibrant colours. The camera software enhances skin tones and colours moderately to make them ready to post on social media. The same goes for the ultra-wide camera but with a lower quality.

Like the rear camera, the front camera is also impressive in well-lit conditions. It uses the software to brighten the skin tones, but it looks good since it’s very subtle and balanced.

You can also record up to 4K video at 30fps from the primary camera and 1080p 60fps from the front. Videos look stable, but it struggles when it comes to autofocus in dim light. Not just autofocus, but the overall video quality also takes a hit in low light.

OnePlus Nord CE 5G Review: Performance and Battery

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G SoC. There was no issue with multi-tasking. Playing Asphalt 9: Legends, Battlegrounds Mobile India like heavy games are very comfortable without any lags or overheating issues.

The battery life of the smartphone is better than other rivals. Even when playing heavy games and using the device quite a lot, It only has to charge it once at night. Further, the charging experience with any of the OnePlus smartphones is excellent and the Nord CE 5G is no exception to that.

Coming to the security features, the face unlock is as fast as it can be and the in-display fingerprint technology is really good as well. OnePlus Nord CE 5G comes running on Android 11 (OxygenOS 11) out of the box. The OxygenOS 11 feels buttery smooth and the clean UI just adds to the user experience.

OnePlus Nord CE 5G review: Software and security

OxygenOS 11 manages to stick out a bit, and is pretty easy to navigate and get used to for most people. Not much has changed with OnePlus 9. New users will not face any issues in using the skin.

OnePlus is famous for its speedy fingerprint sensors. Though they have not remained the industry leaders in this, their phones still do have good in-display fingerprint sensors, which are fast and accurate. Though for the Nord CE, the company could have looked at adding a capasitive fingerprint sensor to lower the cost.

The device also comes with a facial recognition feature, which utilises the front camera to match the user’s face to the stored facial data to unlock the device. It works very smoothly.

OnePlus Nord CE 5G Price in India:

Should you buy it?

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G is just an affordable 5G smartphone from OnePlus that aims to bring the best without burning a hole in the pocket of the users. At this price range, I wouldn’t pick any other smartphone because of the impressive OxygenOS from OnePlus.

If you are thinking about purchasing the OnePlus Nord CE 5G, know that you can do almost everything on this smartphone, whch you can do on a flagship one. Sure, the experience will be a little different when compared with a flagship, but there’s no denying that even with its tiny flaws, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G is a piece of art.
